
Full-time paraprofessionals employed in the New York City public schools who have not yet earned a Bachelor's degree.Participating paraprofessionals are responsible for selecting and enrolling in an approved college or university. Two and a half (2.5) hours per week of Release Time and a summer stipend are provided to support study. The program pays tuition for 3 to 6 credits per semester for undergraduate study at participating colleges or universities. The Career Training Program (CTP) provides eligible UFT paraprofessionals with the opportunity to earn a Bachelor's degree. Single-dose vaccines require no further action. For two-dose vaccines, you must provide proof. This MANDATE requires that all individuals working in NYCDOE schools and buildings be vaccinated against COVID-19. As a result, effective October 1, 2021, ALL NYCDOE Program participants and Student Teachers, Interns, and Externs must provide proof of full vaccination or receipt of the first dose of a vaccine.

VACCINATION MANDATE - Program acceptance shall be conditional upon the participant's successful completion of the COVID-19 Vaccination protocol based on the New York City Department of Education's COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate. Per a city/statewide announcement by the Mayor of New York City, there is a MANDATE for all NYCDOE employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as part of a public health intervention.
